Narrator and Voice Actor
I grew up in Pennsylvania and lived there most of my life. It’s Steeler Country, you know!
In High School, I played summer softball, piano, clairnet in the marching band, until I moved to performing with the band front.
In college, I graduated with a degree in Music Education, marched as a Silk with The Legend, The IUP Marching Band.
After college, I worked as a Director of Liturgical Music, cantoring for weddings and funerals, and directing multiple choirs and various musicians for our worship services.
About 20 years later, I decided to use my Music Ed Degree to teach High School Chorus. I also served as the Music Director for our musicals.
Directing choirs has always been a highlight in my life.
With the skies in Pittsburgh lingering in the grey tones for much of the year, and the cold and snow no longer being enjoyable, we moved to North Carolina!
Not one to sit around without a creative outlet in my life, I auditioned for and enjoyed performing in musicals and again served as the Music Director for Youth Musicals, both at our local Community Theatre,
Then the Pandemic hit. Now we all stayed in our homes.
One of our local Theatre Companies put out a request for artists to donate a story or their voice, for a project to help the company survive the lack of revenue during the Pandemic. I loved the idea and got my Yeti microphone, Garageband on my computer, a book from one of my favorite authors, Kate Morton, and sent in an audition. I was thrilled to narrate two stories in the anthology, Enter Stage Write.
I now have been narrating Audiobooks, from a professional booth with amazing equipment since 2021. I gained a fabulous mentor, have made so many narrator friends, studied with some of the best in the business, have gone to retreats and conventions to learn and hone my skills, and…I love my job!
Many of my Audiobooks are Christian based, Self Help and Poetry. I seem to have the voice for those genres. I also have YA Fantasy, Horror and Memoir books I have narrated. You could say my range goes from quoting scripture, to sounding like Al Pacino.
Genres that I am looking to add to my porfolio are Thrillers, Humor, Cozy Mysteries, any with fabulous courtrroom scenes!
In NC, we have festivals for just about everything, and many times local authors have booths set up with their books for sale. I so enjoy meeting and chatting with them about their books. Often we chat about bringing their book to audio. When a local author and a local narrator collaborate for an Audiobook, it feels like magic! Finding that magic is a passion of mine and has led me to some great books to narrate.
I’m a Mom to my amazing Son, my husband’s four wonderful children, and our lovable mini-golden doodle, Zoey.
Things I love…Laughing, it’s so good for the soul! My favorite comedian is Kathleen Madigan, she has added years on to my life with the her superb comedic timing. Wearing hats, they just make me smile, and my Mom always enjoyed watching me try on hats.
Things I like to do…Golf, travel, exercise, hunt for sea glass on a beach walk, and soon, I’m going to learn to paint scenes with watercolors.
Thank you for reading about me!
Compelling. Complex. Candid.
A voice that goes with a cappuccino…or cabernet.
